The game isn't clear when it's actually check pointing either, so you just gotta hope for the best. I understand why they do this, it's to prevent the exploration/survival aspects from becoming trivial, but it can suck the wind of things if you die and lose more progress than you think. If you die, you will lose quite a bit of progress. My biggest frustration so far is the save system and the lack of checkpoints. So you can jump and glide off a structure and then aim the bow in free-fall and it will go slow-mo and you can land some fancy bow shots.

Pro tip, if you aim the bow in the air it will go into slow-mo. There hasn't been a lot of it yet but it's fairly straightforward so far. I got a sneak peak at another god off in the distance and that one seems like it could be cool as hell, but we'll see.Ĭombat against regular enemies is pretty basic. It was a solid fight but it used a mechanic that's been done a lot in other games so it didn't feel all that special. The second one I found was more mechanically interesting but not overly impressive. First one is rather simple and is a tutorial type of boss. It's hard to say though since the game goes heavy on post-processing effects but it's definitely not 4K. You can help increase your chances of survival by fighting off the cold, increasing your vision in dark perilous environments, and even solve some puzzles while holding this makeshift torch. Possibly using dynamic res scaling too since there were a few times the game looked extra soft. Aside from the epic boss battles, Praey for the Gods is very much a survival game. Resolution is about 1440p if I had to guess. it's running at 60FPS and so far it's been smooth and consistent.
